In a groundbreaking announcement, Angel Reese, the 2023 NCAA women's basketball champion, revealed the launch of the Angel C. Reese Foundation. This foundation aims to empower girls and women by providing equal opportunities in sports, education, financial literacy, and more.

The news was shared during the Variety and Sportico Sports and Entertainment Summit, where Reese took the stage alongside sports journalist Taylor Rooks, who moderated the keynote conversation. With this foundation, Reese is determined to foster equitable resources for young women and underrepresented groups, particularly in areas where they have been overlooked.

The Angel C. Reese Foundation will implement several initiatives to achieve its mission. One significant aspect is the creation of programs that teach innovative solutions to overcome systemic challenges. These programs will equip young women with the necessary tools to excel in sports and successfully transition into the real world.

Starting in the coming weeks, the foundation will offer a range of opportunities to young women. These include basketball camps, financial literacy programs, scholarship initiatives, holiday events, and ongoing community programming and engagement. By providing these resources, the foundation aims to empower a new generation of girls and women to thrive.

The official launch of the Angel C. Reese Foundation will take place on August 19 at Reese's alma mater, Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore. To kick off the event, the foundation will organize a "Back-to-School Giveback Block Party." Through this event, they will donate essential items such as school supplies, backpacks, clothing, food, hygiene products, and living essentials to children in need within the Baltimore area.

Prior to establishing her own foundation, Reese achieved remarkable success on the basketball court. Earlier this year, she led the Louisiana State University Lady Tigers to a National Championship victory, defeating the University of Iowa's Hawkeyes. Reese's outstanding performance not only earned her the title of NCAA women's basketball's most valuable player but also served as a testament to her dedication and talent.

Angel Reese's commitment to empowering girls and women through sports is truly commendable. With the launch of the Angel C. Reese Foundation, she is set to make a lasting impact and create a brighter future for young women across the nation.
