Chicago Sky's rising, Angel Reese, is set to shine at the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, Arizona this weekend.
Selected 7th overall the 2024 WNBA Draft, Reese has been making waves by leading the league in total rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game. Not only that, she's set a league record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season.
Reese joins the elite club of Candice Dupree, Courtney Vandersloot, and Elena Delle Donne, becoming only the fourth player in Sky's history to earn an All-Star nomination in her debut season. She also stands tall as the 15th player to be named an All-Star in franchise history.
The selection process for Team WNBA involved fan votes, input from a panel of sports broadcasters and writers, and votes from current WNBA players. Fans contributed 50 percent of the votes, while the media and players each accounted for 25 percent.
After this voting period, the top 10 vote-getters were automatically chosen to participate in the WNBA All-Star Game. Any player in the top 10 who hadn't been named to the USA Women’s National Team 5-on-5 roster was assigned to Team WNBA. The remaining spots were voted-in by the league’s 12 head coaches.
The AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, which adopts the USA Basketball vs. Team WNBA format for the second time, will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, July 20 at Footprint Center, and will be broadcasted live on ABC.
